Fabric Structures for Oil & Gas Exploration
Versatile Deployments
Our fabric structures do not require a concrete pad as a foundation and in fact can be anchored to nearly anything. They are ideal, then, for oil and gas exploration and extraction applications, which are typically required in remote areas with no existing infrastructure.
Protection for Equipment
From seismic imaging gear to large-scale drilling equipment, a range of technology is utilized in oil and gas applications. Our shelters help protect equipment from the damaging effects of exposure to the elements thanks to their superior thermal performance. The fabric cover is formulated to repel 99.95% of UV-A and UV-B radiation, helping to maximize the lifespan of equipment electronics.
Shelter for Staff
Whether oil and gas companies require a lunchroom, warehouse, equipment storage building, welding or fabrication shop, or frac sand storage facility, Big Top’s fabric structures provide a safe and comfortable climate for personnel. The UV-reflective cover not only keeps employees safe from sun exposure, but it also naturally maintains a pleasant interior temperature that is, on average, 15 degrees cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter than the temperature outside. Eliminating the need for artificial climate control is just one of the ways our temporary shelters help oil and gas companies save on costs.
Naturally Lit Interiors
Another energy-saving benefit that oil and gas companies enjoy with our fabric structures is the natural illumination provided by the translucent fabric cover, which allows sunlight to fully illuminate the interior. This is particularly beneficial to field operations where running electric lighting can be a challenge.
Strong Enough for Long-Term Applications
Big Top’s fabric structures are supported by an industrial-grade steel frame that is strong enough to stand the test of time. We can also add engineering for heavy wind and snow loads for field operations in particularly volatile climates. With proper maintenance, our shelters can stand strong for decades. Plus, they can be disassembled and shipped to a new location to keep pace with the changing needs of oil and gas applications.
Custom Designs
At Big Top Fabric Structures, we don’t offer one-size-fits-all solutions. On the contrary, we work closely with oil and gas companies to perfectly design fabric structures to meet specific needs. This can mean adding bay doors and durable flooring for equipment storage, installing internal partitions to section off living quarters or office spaces, and including lightning protection for the building to be used as a muster station in inclement weather.
